$6,475.37 Biweekly / $113,952.28 - $168,359.62 AnnualREPORTS:
Executive DirectorThe Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB) is one
of 21 Regional Centers that are community-based, private non-profit
corporations under contract with the California Department of
Developmental Services. RCEB provides intake, assessment,
diagnosis, and coordinates community-based services for over 25,000
children and adults with developmental disabilities in Alameda and
Contra Costa counties.RCEB envisions a future where persons with
developmental disabilities are truly a part of the community.
Persons with developmental disabilities receive supports and
services they need to succeed. The supports and services change as
the need changes.In our dream, children with developmental
disabilities live with families in typical communities. Many choose
to attend their neighborhood schools and play with neighborhood
friends. Adults with developmental disabilities live in the
residence of their choice - with family members, with friends, or
with their spouse/significant other. They engage in activities of
their choice - work, volunteering, education, training, or leisure.
They have meaningful relationships with friends and coworkers and
are seen as valuable, contributing members of their
communities.ROLE DESCRIPTIONThe Equity and Community Engagement
Officer provides visionary leadership and strategic direction to
identify and advance equity initiatives across the Regional Center
of the East Bay. This position will oversee the development,
implementation, advancement, and evaluation of equity-focused
policies, initiatives, and programmatic activities. This position
will drive change management and program design, ensuring a balance
in meeting community needs despite rapid system changes.This
position will serve as a member of the Senior Management Team to
develop, support, and implement policies that build diversity,
equity, access, and inclusion principles that are aligned with the
organizational mission, vision, and values. This position will also
assist in the development and monitoring of the performance
contract with the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and
the Language Access and Cultural Competency initiatives of the
organization.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Integrate equity into organizational operations, policies,
practices, and systems impacting workforce efforts.
- Serve as the equity expert on RCEB purchase of services,
demographics, outcomes, and culturally competent, person-centered
engagement strategies.
- Lead initiatives to assess and improve available information
and services for those relying on services provided by the
organization.
- Deliver comprehensive, high caliber reports and material for
use by employees, clients and families, Board of Directors, and
other community partners.
- Provide expertise through speaking, teaching, and consulting on
systemic inequities, including racism, legal barriers, and poverty,
to drive informed decision-making and equitable policies.
- Lead cross-departmental coordination and integration of equity
strategies to ensure inclusive policies, programs, and
practices.
- Oversee the Language Access and Cultural Competency team, the
initiatives of the organization and budget in excess of $1 million
dollars.
- Take a lead role in the developing, implementing, and
monitoring the performance contract with the Department of
Developmental Services (DDS) to ensure alignment with equity goals
and compliance requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive
Director.EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES:
- Deep expertise in principles and best practices related to
diversity, equity, inclusion, and access in both workplace and
community settings.
- Extensive experience implementing equity programs, principles
of change management, and best practices for community engagement
and training.
- High level of sensitivity, judgment, and discernment in
handling complex, specialized proposals with competing
priorities.
- Previous experience overseeing budgets, managing program budget
expectations and, where required, implementing financial
controls.
- Experience using data and performance metrics to measure
programs, projects, and initiatives at both organizational and
departmental levels.
- Communicates effectively with a variety of audiences through
various mediums, including written reports, presentations, and
open-discussion settings.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a
track record of driving results and achieving objectives.
- Ability to pivot and maintain professionalism.
- Be solution-oriented.EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree and 7 years of related work experience in
diversity, equity, inclusion, with a focus on strategy development,
implementation, and management.
- Master's degree with 5 years of related work experience in
diversity, equity, inclusion, with a focus on strategy development,
implementation, and management.
- Experience should include two (2) years of work in the field of
developmental disabilities and/or similar setting.
- Previous management experience required, to include
team-building, leadership development, and performance
management.
- Experience working in a multi-cultural environment a plus.
- Ability to communicate in languages other than English a
plus.
- Automobile and valid driver's license required.BENEFITS:At the
